Contraindications & Precautions

Contraindications:
Don’t use on patient with known sensitivity to the product or any of its components.
Precautions:
• If the wound gets larger after the first few dressing changes, consult a health care professional.
• Observe the wound/surgical incision for signs of infection. Consult a health care professional if any of the following are noted: fever, increased pain, redness, bleeding, swelling, unusual odor, increased drainage or cloudy or foul drainage.
• AbsoClear may be used on infected wounds only under the care of a health care professional.
• Rarely, irritation (redness), or maceration (whitening) of the surrounding skin, or hyper granulation (excessive tissue formation in the wound) may develop. Should these occur, consult a health care professional.
• Overlap of multiple dressings on an individual wound/surgical incision may increase the risk of maceration or leakage.
• If the wound does not begin to show signs of healing or if any other unexpected symptoms occur, consult a health care professional.
• Reuse of the product increases risk of infection.
• Irrigate with saline if residual dressing is left on the wound.
