Pharmaplast Filtering Half Masks are disposable lightweight facemasks offering reliable respiratory protec􀆟on against airborne particles and limit the transmission of infective agents.
The vertical flat-fold design of folded cup style Filtering half mask offers low profile for better visibility and allows for convenient storage prior to use.
Intended Purpose:
– Any occupational settng where a filtering half mask is appropriate.
– Help reduce wearer exposure to certain airborne particles, including those generated by electrocautery, laser surgery, and other powered medical instruments.

Contraindications & Precautions

Precautions:
– Do NOT use before receiving training and carefully reading User’s Instructions.
– Do not alter or misuse the mask.
– Store the mask away from contaminated areas when not in use.
– Do NOT use after the expiry date.
– Do NOT use the mask in case of visible mechanical damage.
– It is unlikely that the requirements for leakage will be achieved if facial hair passes under the face seal.
– People with different face structures should take extra care to place the mask in such a way that there are no airways.
– People with a compromised respiratory system, such as asthma or emphysema, should consult a physician and must complete a medical evaluation prior to use.
– Face masks can help protect your lungs against certain airborne contaminants; however, they will not prevent entry through other routes such as the skin, which would require additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
– Do NOT use this mask to enter or stay in:
• Oxygen-deficient atmospheres (Oxygen concentration is less than 17%).
• Explosive atmospheres.
• Areas where contaminants and/or their concentrations are unknown or immediately dangerous to life or health.
• Areas where aerosol concentration exceeds the dedicated range for individual filtering classes according to below protection class table.
• Areas where gases and/or vapors are present.

Instructions for Use

1. The mask comes folded in half.
2. Open the mask with the inside facing you, and the nosepiece in the outer upper side.

3. Position the mask under your chin and the nosepiece over the bridge of your nose.
4. While holding the mask, pull the first ear loop around your ear.
5. Repeat the previous step for the second ear loop.

6. Place your fingertips from both hands at the top of the metal nosepiece. Using two hands, mold the nose area to the shape of your nose by pushing
inward while moving your fingertips down both sides of the nosepiece. Pinching the nosepiece using one hand may result in improper fit.
7. Check for leak tightness as follows:
– Place both hands completely over the mask and:
– Exhale sharply for masks without exhala􀆟on valve.
– If you feel air leaks around nose, re-adjust the nosepiece as described in step 6.
– If you feel air leaks around the edges, try increasing tension of headbands/ ear loops by tying a knot.
– Repeat the procedure until satisfactory face-fit has been achieved.
– If you CANNOT achieve a proper face-fit, DO NOT enter the contaminated area.
