Paraffin gauze Dressings
Pharmatull® is a low adherent paraffin gauze dressing made of cotton leno gauze impregnated with white soft paraffin.
Pharmatull® is used as a primary wound contact layer in the treatment of:
– Minor burns and scalds.
– Skin grafts (both donor and receptor sites).
– Leg ulcers.
– Variety of traumatic injuries, e.g. lacerations and abrasions.
– Skin loss wounds.

Contraindications:
1- Do not use in cavity wounds.
2- Do not use in case of sensitivity to any of the dressing components.
Precautions:
1- If the dressing is placed upon a heavily exuding wound, its semi-occlusive nature may cause tissue maceration by preventing the free
movement of exudates away from the surface of the wound.
2- If Pharmatull® is left in position for prolonged periods of time, it can become adherent and cause tissue damage upon removal.
Change dressing daily or more according to condition of the wound.
3- There is a danger that smoking, or using a naked flame could cause your dressing or clothing to catch fire.
4- Seek medical advice immediately for all serious wounds and burns, or if redness or discomfort occurs.
5- Reuse of the product increases risk of infection.
1- Open the pouch.
2- Remove the protector(s) .
3- Pick up the product using and antiseptic technique.
4- Place the Pharmatull at the wound site.
5. Cover with absorbent secondary dressing according to the intense of exudates e.g. ESPUMA Gentle or ESPUMA Gentle Comfort in case of heavy exudates or Pharmapore PU in case of light exudates.
6- Fix the secondary dressing.
7- Change daily or according to the condition of the wound.
